Fall from Heaven is a fantasy mod for Civilization 4 that brings more focus on the Religion and Promotion aspects of the game. There are unique religion units, increased XP, unit upgrades that last throughout the entire game (a Scout can be upgraded to a Hunter, then to an Assassin, then to a Shadow). Promotions have had their effect increased and many new promotions have been added. The Tech Tree, Units, Religions, Buildings and Civics have all been rebuilt from the ground up. Version 0.12b
Fall from Heaven is a fantasy mod for Civilization 4 that brings more focus on the Religion and Promotion aspects of the game. There are unique religion units, increased XP, unit upgrades that last throughout the entire game (a Scout can be upgraded to a Hunter, then to an Assassin, then to a Shadow). Promotions have had their effect increased and many new promotions have been added. The Tech Tree, Units, Religions, Buildings and Civics have all been rebuilt from the ground up. Also a new Spell System has been added to the game to allow for the wide variety of unit spells and abilities.

A huge thanks to the artists I shamelessly cut tiny pieces of art from to make all of the icons and graphics used in this mod. Justin Sweet, Brom, Don Maitz, Keith Parkinson, etc etc are all amazing and contributed (unknowingly) not only the amazing art, but inspiration for a fantasy world through their work. Several icons are used from the GuildWars game for their clear evocative style.
Some of the songs heard in this mod are from the Eclipse Mod for Half-life 2 and Arcanum. Additionally there are small cuts (5-30 seconds) of songs from Enya and Cirque du Soleil throughout the mod.

What you've done here completely reinvents the standard ruleset and pays homage to a wicked Fantasy setting. I like how certain aspects of the game are now hero-driven, making empire building more of a tale of peoples rather than menu micromanagement. I'd like to see more custom scenarios and maps in this setting, bring back the epic conquest feel of Warcraft's campaign. The custom music you've used so far is incredible, I suggest the bands Arcana, Steve Roach, Vidna Obmana & David Arkenstone if you need more medeival, dark ambient & Celtic instrumentals.

Will it replace the original CIV4 if I instal it?

That is sweet just what Civ needed.
I give this mod 5 stars. but now onto my comments;
i cant seem to join a religion even when i aquire it, says cant convert (that really *****es me off). i thought the patch was the problem so i downloaded it, the patch seemed to have missing pictures and unit grafix (like raven for instince,it looked just like a red circle); so i wont be using the patch thats for sure even tho it had some stuff that interests me.
maybe im doing somthing wrong: i put the mod in FIRAXIS/MODS/ seems pretty strait forward i dont see what i couldof done wrong.

Your original Civ game stays intact. You just have to go into the advanced options screen and assign the mod, per Oblivion, and restart the game. It'll load up with the custom mod changes and you can play with the patch from there.
Can someone give me some help, I have downloaded the latest version, and the first version, of this mod, but it doesn't change the game at all, is there something i didn't do, or did wrong, if u guys can help me, i'll greatly appreciate it.
i've tried to download this mod about 7 times and the download stops, usually about 12% of the way through. i have a wireless connection, so i thought that might be it, however, i have downloaded other larger mods with little or no difficulties. any ideas or suggestions?
This mod sounds super sweet. Unfortunately I can't download it and I've checked all the problems, I have DSL so that's not an issue. I have firefox and windows internet explorer, but it doesn't work on either one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
